Domaine Clarence Dillon has announced the
renaming of Chateau Laville Haut-Brion, the white
wine of Chateau La Mission Haut-Brion, to Chateau
La Mission Haut-Brion Blanc.

The first vintage of the new named Chateau La Mission Haut-Brion Blanc will be 2009 (see right).

The name, Chateau Laville Haut-Brion, is derived
from the combination of two separate properties.
The two estates, Clos Laville and Chateau La Mission Haut-Brion, were joined in 1928 by then owner of La Mission, Frederic WOLTNER who, that same year, had acquired the neighbouring estate, Clos Laville. Chateau La Mission Haut-Brion was purchased by Domaine Clarence Dillon in 1983.

This latest renaming exercise follows in the footstep, in 2008, when Domaine Clarence Dillon announced that the second wine of Chateau Haut-Brion would be rechristened Le Clarence de Haut-Brion (previously, it was called Chateau Bahans Haut-Brion).

Le Clarence de Haut-Brion was inaugurated with the 2007 vintage (see left). The second wine is in the same bottle shape as the Grand Vin Chateau Haut-Brion.
